I was the “Husky” kid who used to eat a bowl of ice cream each night before bed. I learned about working out and nutrition and became obsessed. All I wanted now was a six-pack. I started exercising 6 days a week and went on an extreme diet. I dieted down to 145 lbs and had a teacher ask me if I had a black eye because of how tired I looked.
By the grace of God, I realized that something had to change. I decided to stop dieting and try to get stronger. Over 3 months I gained 30+ lbs and could see my abs. I was also stronger and healthier than ever. This baffled me and broke my limited beliefs on what was possible.
A few years later I went to UMBC and got my bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. Through that time I never gave up my passion for fitness and nutrition. I started working as a full-time engineer and wanted to start coaching. I became a NASM Certified personal trainer and started coaching people after work.
I learned the shortcomings in the fitness space and was often shocked at how BAD advice and conventional diet/training programs were. That is when I knew I had to do something about it.
I started Exalt Fitness & Nutrition to create a systematic approach for busy people to build muscle and get in peak performance shape in less than 4 hours per week. My goal is to help people get all the benefits of diet and exercise without being a gym rat or giving up all their favorite foods.
